Below are the steps I followed when creating my project:
Step 1:
I had to open up iMovie, click on file then proceed to 'New Project'. I named the new project 'A2 Music Video'. When i come to edit my music video i'll open up this project and all my work will be saved to it.
Step 2:
Next I upload my footage to the Mac by inserting the memory card. This then uploads to the media drive and allows me to rename it. I renamed it 'Megans music video- day 1'. All my footage will be saved to this folder making it easier for me to access when editing.
Step 3:
Once my footage has uploaded to my folder it will appear at the bottom of iMovie. From here I can then drag my chosen clips into my new project and begin creating my video.
Step 4:
The photos below show the tools which I used when editing my music video. These tools let me do a variety of things, for example; add text, crop shots, adjust the audio and change the dynamics of the shot.
Step 5:
The picture below shows how I added music to my project. The song highlighted is my chosen song. By clicking on this I drag it into my main project and it then becomes part of my project. To know if the song has been added successfully the background behind your clips of footage will turn green. When this is added the next step is to start getting your footage in time with your song, this may mean using the above tools to trim or extend clips.
