Feedback for my Rough Cut

What was done well:
When being told the feedback fro my rough cut, something that all my peers agreed on was that my use of a panning shot, with split clips each holding a different colour, worked well with the tempo of the song at that moment.

Another part of my rough cut that my peers enjoyed was when we see the star of the video messing around with a hula-hoop. They're reasoning for liking this part in particular was that it showed a quirkier side of the video, as my bands genre is indie-pop, so they felt it showed the two contrasting genres.

Improvements:
My peers suggested that my video needed a larger variety of locations as it became quite repetitive throughout the video, and by having more locations it enables me to expand on the mis en scene. They also suggested that each different clip was made shorter as one shot would last too long and became long-winded for the audience to watch. I was told to play around with the editing to create more of a professional look to the video, this could be done by having a continuous edit on the same shots used throughout the video.

Action:
To put this feedback into action my first move was to find more locations that would fit with my video and extend the mis-en-scene. I arranged more days for me and Charlie to get together to shoot in a number of different locations. When creating my final piece i also changed the effects on the video as they had suggested. Throughout the video, each clip in the cellar would hold the same effect, as would that of a scene in the woods. this made a smoother look to the piece and created a more professional looking product. The length of clips was also said to be an issue, so i trimmed down the clips so that they changed to different shots but kept in time with the beat of the song.
